    COFFEE for a CAUSE is a monthly event held by HoJoe Coffee & Eatery in order to raise funds for local charities and causes.

    The café donates $1 from each coffee sale to the selected charity, as well as collects donations from non-coffee purchasers. You can buy a coffee, leave your change in the donation jar, or just come by without making a purchase to leave a donation.

    All money raised on the third COFFEE for a CAUSE on Thursday, October 15 will be donated to Kenora’s Handi Transit. Donations will be collected throughout the day.

    Britt AM is BACK!

    Britt AM will be returning to the café to perform an acoustic set on Tuesday, September 8 at 1pm.

    Britt is doing a cross-Canada tour in support of her new EP, Songs From the Spider Den Volumes One and Two. She is returning from her tour and is gracing us with yet another great performance!

  • Coffee for a Cause: Canadian Red Cross

    Thank you to everyone who participated in the previous month’s Coffee for a Cause- HoJoe’s raised $200 for the LOTW Hospital Auxiliary!

    The second Coffee for a Cause will be in support of the Canadian Red Cross. The Canadian Red Cross is a leading humanitarian organization that sets out to improve the lives of vulnerable people. Currently, the Red Cross is providing assistance to Canadians affected by the Saskatchewan fires.

    HoJoe Coffee & Eatery will be donating $1 from every coffee sold (all sizes!) to the Red Cross, as well as accepting small cash donations. The goal is to raise $300, so contributions of all sizes will be of great help!

  • Past Event: Lowell Friesen Live @ HoJoe’s

    Lowell Friesen will be gracing the café, promoting his solo debut LP released in May!

    The album is a 12 song collection of his most beloved stories, spanning banjo driven foot stomping tunes to quiet understated folk ballads. The collection rambles and rolls, taking the listener on a colourful ride, dabbled with hints of mandolin and fiddle, caressed with gentle harmonies with the focus always on the vocal delivery. It is a collection any lover of folk-roots music will appreciate.

    HoJoe’s 10th birthday celebration was a HUGE success- we raised $500 that was donated to the Kenora Fellowship Centre. Since we had so much fun during this day, we decided to make fundraising at the café a monthly event! How about Coffee for a Cause? At the beginning of each month, HoJoe’s will select a local charity to donate a portion of the café’s profits to, as well as accept donations on their behalf.

    The first official Coffee for a Cause will be on Tuesday, July 7th. HoJoe’s will be donating $1 from each regular sized coffee sold to the Lake of the Woods District Hospital Auxiliary. The Hospital Auxiliary is a group of volunteers that provide extra help at the hospital and fundraises money for patient care.

    Anytime during this day, stop by 103 Main Street for an iced or hot coffee and help us raise money for the Auxiliary!

    Reenie Acoustic Duo, a folk-pop duo from Toronto, will be performing their new EP live at HoJoe’s!

    Reenie are an acoustic folk-pop duo who find their home in Toronto. Guitarist, singer & veteran tunesmith Reenie Perkovic writes the love songs, and string chameleon Lea Kirstein figures out how to duck and weave within them. After meeting in music school on the West Coast and getting into many good fights along the way, they got married, & married their musical styles to form this band.

    HoJoe’s is turning 10 and we want YOU to help us celebrate!

    Visit our new location at 103 Main Street on Wednesday, April 29 for a Famous Frozen Hot Chocolate. For every Famous Frozen Hot Chocolate sold, we will donate $1 to the Kenora Fellowship Centre. We will also be accepting small cash donations to go towards the Fellowship Centre.

    Let’s celebrate an amazing 10 years of coffee & laughs and raise money for the centre! … and drink some liquid gold.

    This Valentine’s, surprise your loved one with HoJoe’s!

    For $5, choose from a medium Raspberry White Mocha (our Valentine’s special!) or a medium hot drink of your choice. Write a personalized message on the coffee sleeve, or let us pick a quote for you (If you want to leave the coffee sleeve blank, that’s cool too!). We’ll deliver the drink, along with a chocolate candy heart, to your sweetie/bestie/parent at work.

    We’ll be offering the service from Monday, February 9 until Friday, February 13, and will be handing out deliveries in the afternoon.

    We’ll be accepting orders and payments in store at any time! $5 is before tax, and we will be making deliveries downtown only.
