Cold-Pressed Juice

At HoJoe’s, we understand that it’s hard to find time to eat your daily recommended fruits and vegetables. Not only is it time consuming to prepare a salad, but it also takes the majority of your lunch break to eat it. And let’s be honest, we don’t actually want to eat the salad. Cold pressed juice is an easy, fun way to get large portions of fruits and vegetables into your body. It’s also delicious, refreshing and hydrating, which is just as important as the health benefits it provides.

We make the most nutritionally complete green juice possible right in our cafe. We made the decision to press our own juice in order to guarantee that we are serving the freshest juice possible to our customers. Our cold-press juicer presses juice that contains more essential vitamins, minerals and enzymes than juice made any other way. It also preserves the natural flavours of the produce, which makes the juice taste absolutely delicious!


Cold-pressing is the best method for getting the most out of your juice, and it’s the method of juicing that we use at HoJoe.  In a typical centrifugal juicer, a spinning blade spins at high speeds to quickly separate the juice from the fiber. Unfortunately with this juicing method, the high speed blade destroys nutrients and enzymes.

Also known as masticating juicers, cold-press juicers extract juice from produce using a gentle crushing and squeezing action. This ensures that the vital enzymes, nutrients and minerals stay intact, since no heat is created in the process. As a result, this produces juices that are more nutrient-dense than those from centrifugal juicers that pulverize, heat and ultimately kill beneficial enzymes and nutrients. When using the cold pressed method of juicing, a hydraulic press is used to exert thousands of pounds of pressure on to shredded produce without applying heat.  This results in maximum nutrient retention, and a much tastier juice! When cold-pressed juicing, the shelf life of the product is 3 days without loss of nutrients.
